I again found myself at the end of this question...."so what is your faith?" - translates to... 'what religion do you follow?'
My answer is, "I'm not a religious person, I'm a spiritual person."
At this point the conversation goes one of two ways.
- Another spiritual individual will let me know they get it, we share a connection of the peaceful energy of understanding and move on to another subject.
- A religious individual will say "ok, so what faith do you follow?" Then begins to list different religions locally to eastern cultures.
I now realize my answer has been ignored and they will continue attempting to put me back into the box that suffocated me for too many years.
I am at peace and I will continue to do, believe, and walk the path that brings me peace. I would ask nothing less of another individual.
Folks want to keep you in a box 'they' understand and accept. Avoid judging others because their journey is different than yours.
Folks will understand what they choose to perceive as truth.
Mine is peaceful, I plan to keep it that way.
"The inevitable thing that comes with spiritual awakening is inner peace."
- Eckhart Tolle
